General Information:
All parents or guardians of current OA Swim and Dive athletes are encouraged to join the boosters. The booster’s primary goals are to assist Oliver Ames High School with supporting the team with fundraising, providing practice buses, assisting at home meets, sponsoring senior night activities, team dinners, and a year end banquet celebration.
The boosters undertake fundraising, parent/student volunteering, team building efforts, and other activities over the course of the year, both within and outside of the swim season. Oliver Ames Swim and Dive offers a unique student athlete experience, as both the entire boys and girls team practices together.
The OA Swim and Dive boosters meet on a regular basis, typically starting in September and continuing through April of the following year.
Please see below for information on important topics.
OA Swim and Dive Fees: The OA Swim and Dive Boosters adhere to the guidelines set by Oliver Ames High School regarding student fees. These fees assist the team with various expenses, including, but not limited to, practice bus service, uniforms, t-shirts, photography services, and a end-of-season banquet.
Fundraising: All athletes are encouraged to help raise money for the OA Swim & Dive Boosters. Fundraisers help support the team and, in addition, build team spirit.
Student Volunteering: Athletes are encouraged to volunteer at events coordinated by the OA Swim and Dive Boosters. Currently the OA Boosters help the Easton Lions Club with the Holiday Festival and wrap presents together as a team at My Brother’s Keeper each December. This is a great opportunity for athletes to perform community service and give back to the Easton community.
Parent Volunteers: We understand that your time is extremely valuable, so any help is appreciated. Parent volunteers can assist with many things, including:
1. Hosting a pasta dinner for the athletes.
2. Time swimmers at swim meets (home meets only - no experience needed).
3. Score-keep for meets (home meets only - no experience needed).
4. Assist with fundraising events.
5. Assist in organizing Senior Night.
6. Assist in organizing the banquet.
7. Help supervise car wash.
While working hard in the pool is its own reward, the boosters do assist with providing the following to qualifying athletes.
OA Swim and Dive College Scholarship: Each year, based on funding, the boosters collect scholarship applications from OA Swim and Dive athletes who are continuing their education or joining a trade school. Scholarship amount, and the number of scholarships differ year to year. Award winners are notified in April each year. Eligibility requirements include:
1. Acceptance to college or trade school.
2. Active participation in practices, meets, activities and functions of the OA Swim and Dive Team for a minimum of 3 years.
3. The completion of an essay and application.
OA Swim and Dive Banquet: Our end-of-season celebration typically is held during the month of March. The banquet honors all those who contributed to the OA Swim and Dive Team's season. All team members and their families are invited.
