2025- 2026 Oliver Ames Swim and Dive Captains
Knese Betts:
Swimming and the water in general has always been the thing that makes Knese the happiest. She has taken swim lessons her whole life, and started swimming competitively when she was 11 years old. Her favorite events are the 100 freestyle, and 100 backstroke. The Oliver Ames Swim team has been an amazing part of her high school experience, and as captain she hopes to continue the same welcoming and loving environment she entered her freshman year. Knese has also been a certified lifeguard and swim instructor for 2 years.
Aidan McDonagh:
Aidan has always loved to swim, and from a young age he would watch his older sister compete in swim meets. Wanting to spend more time with his sister, Aidan joined the Oliver Ames Swim and Dive team his freshman year and that marked the beginning of his swimming career. Aidan was initially doubtful about how much he'd like swim, but instantly fell in love with the team and its culture and the sport itself. Aidan runs long distance track and does long distance swimming. He frequently swims the 500 and 200 freestyle events. He is also a lifeguard. As a captain, Aidan wants to push his teammates to give it their best effort and to see them succeed. Aidan is very excited to see how much everyone will improve this year and wants to be a great captain.
Justin Silverman:
Justin began swimming his freshman year on OA Swim and Dive and immediately fell in love with the sport. He really enjoyed the supportive and competitive environment that surrounded him at swim. Since then, he has joined Bluefish, a competitive club team, and swims year round. His favorite strokes are freestyle and breaststroke. With his captaincy he wants to continue to cultivate the environment that drew him to the team and push his teammates to become the best versions of themself in and out of the pool. Justin wants to share his love for the sport and inspire others.
Eden Clewer:
Eden has always loved the water and has been swimming competitively since she was little. She started her swim team journey back in England at 8 years old, and then transitioned to swim at the Old Colony YMCA team in 5th grade. This lead her to the Oliver Ames Swim and Dive team. Eden fell in love with the feeling of improvement and being part of her team instantly. Some of her favorite events are the 100 breaststroke and the 50 freestyle. Eden has been a certified lifeguard and swim instructor for 3 years now, and teaches both public and private swim lessons at the Easton Y. As a captain, Eden strives to create an environment that is both light-hearted and fun, yet a space where team members can push each other to be better. She is excited for her final season on this team, and she hopes to foster a supportive and uplifting relationship with all her teammates.
